Mature roosters are some of my favorite creatures. They watch the sky for hawks, take the girls on dates, find special treats for the hens while they are free ranging, and dance. Roosters dance for the hens and even in male groups, although for very different reasons.

The best roosters learn to check with the crows for a morning update.
